The gaming industry has grown into a major necessity for the youth today. However, there are many adults who find themselves playing games as an outlet to keep up with new digital media. As a result, there are many games, when manufactured, labeled for teens, Mature and for everyone.
There are many adults who ignore these labels and allow children to play games with extreme violence, such as Call of Duty and Grand Theif Auto. These type of games has led children down a road of violence, trying to emulate the charcters on the game.
As a result to this type of violence, the Entertainment Merchants Association challenged a state law restricting the sale or rental of violent games to anyone under 18. However, does the government limits on video-game distributors, violates their First Amendents rigths of freedom of speech?
Should the government place these type of restrictions on video games? if so, how?
PLEASE DONT FORGET TO TAKE ATTENDANCE!!!

ReplyDeletevideo games ain't the reason these kids are going crazy and acting violent, and even if they try to restrict kids from buying the games themselves they'll just get their parents or somebody else to buy it for them.
ReplyDeletevideos games is good when your bored for adults and kids and its a great stress reliever
ReplyDeleteI think they should have these restrictions on these type of games because they do have a big influence on our kids. The government just have to stick to their regulations, such as checking id to who ever they selling the games to, and make sure they are over 18 yrs of age. Eventhough, these kids are trying to act out what they see in the games, we can't blame it all on the games only. The parents also have a big part on what they kids can play or watch, or even how they act. I have no kids but thats just my opinion.
ReplyDeleteHonestly speaking? This is where you see if a parent cares or not, if they are educated. I know many who do not allow they're children to play video games while others just will do anything to make them quiet... (sorry went off topic there) anyways everything is made to a specific public, but just like how at time old people want to feel young and younger people want to be in the tred, anything will be done to reach that ok from society...
ReplyDeletesorry off topic again.. look end of the matter is were to dependent in technology for our fun... that sucks because i sure enjoy a good snowball fight, camping, volley ball game, or just simple flag football. But people seem to rather be home, on facebook..... i wonder what we would be like if we actually dedicated that time to studying?
I believe we as a people should voice our opinions to restore the young minds with positive influences instead of limiting them with ignorance..
ReplyDeletei feel adults shape kids minds not video games. life is full of violence so a game doers not change life you as adults are supose to show children that games are games real is real. you have to show them there are other things to do besids wanting to shoot and kill people because it hurts people and you. kids need to know consequences for there actions. i do feel the goverment has a right to ID people for teen and adult games but the fact of the matter is the kids are going to play anyway.
ReplyDeleteI dont think it will make a difference if the government puts a restriction on the video games. There are alot of things that require ID, but if u know the right people, u dont get ID'd. I been buy liquor from the liquor store since i was 16, and getting beers & roll up since i was 13. If they dont have a connect, all they have to do is ask some1 they know and there gonna get it. some kids are spoiled and their parents will get it for them anyways. I dont think there is a way to prevent under-age anything. There's always a way out the system
